| Regional Advisory Council | Three Pike residents on a regional advisory council to improve opportunities for minorities. The civil rights enforcement
agency in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania is the Pennsylvania Human Relations Commission (PHRC). They formed the
Monroe County Advisory Council to better serve the Pocono Region and assist them in ascertaining and improving
opportunities in employment, housing, public accommodations and education. The Monroe County Advisory Council consists
of 16 members throughout Monroe and 3 members from Pike. The Pike County members of the Council are Perry Gower,
Cindy Stine and Robert Veneziale. Perry Gower and Robert Veneziale are from the Tri-State Unity Coalition and Ms.
Stine is an educational outreach coordinator/child advocate with Survivors’ Resources. News Release (PDF) |

| Davis-Bailey Family Exhibit | The Pike County Historical Society's Columns Museum has a permanent exhibit that focuses on the African American
family of Abraham and Sarah Davis. Abraham is believed to have served in the 5th Regiment, 204th Volunteer Artillery
in the Civil War. He married Sarah Johnson and purchased the family home in Milford. Abraham’s descendent Milton
Bailey was tragically the only man from Pike County to be killed in the Korean War. See complete article from the
